Operations Development is reinforcing the team with an Automation/ OT Specialist. In this role you will be an important member of a central development team with global responsibility. Your task will be development in close cooperation with suppliers, manufacturing units and product development, challenging existing concepts within manufacturing. Our focus areas are spread within machine control, robotics, machine learning and new automation technologies to increase quality and efficiency within Alfa Laval Operations.

What you can expect

• Lead technical initiatives and projects within Digital Operations (automation, robotics and simulation) and Operations Intelligence (architecture, AI, ML).
• Innovate, develop, verify and implement new equipment, technologies and processes.
• Develop and implement tools and methods within industrial automation to improve Alfa Laval Operations
• Initiate and participate in internal networks to develop the automation/OT area.
• Participate in networks/projects outside of Alfa Laval to strengthen our capabilities

The position is based in Lund, and you will report to an Operations Development Manager. The role may involve travelling up to 30 days per year.

Who you are

As a person, you are driven, curious, enthusiastic and a committed problem solver with good communicating skills, a great technical interest and open minded to new technology. You have a strategic perspective in combination with good practical skills. You are a team player experienced working in projects and motivated by both finding solutions and executing projects, with a good diplomatic sense.

What you know

• You have a technical degree within Automation, Electrical engineering or similar.
• You have at least 5-7 years of relevant experience from manufacturing industries, with a good understanding of system design, automation technologies and commissioning of equipment.
• Experience of working with Rockwell or Siemens PLC system is a requirement.
• Experience of working with ABB robotics and Robot Studio.
• Deep understanding of product development, engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain processes
• Prior experience of architecting & developing smart factory software solutions
• Prior experience of working with SCADA/MES (ex. Aveva), vision technologies, robotics and simulation
• Ability to establish effective working relationships in a team environment is required.
• Effective organization and team leadership skills is required.
• Excellent in writing, verbal presentation, and interpersonal communication is required.
