Backend Engineer

Delivers complete solutions spanning all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) (design, implementation, testing, delivery and operations), based on definitions from more senior roles. Advises immediate management on project-level issues Guides junior engineers Operates with little day-to-day supervision, making technical decisions based on knowledge of internal conventions and industry best practices Applies knowledge of technical best practices in making decisions As a Backend Engineer, you'll contribute to designing and delivering high-quality solutions while learning from and collaborating closely with your team. Your day-to-day will include: Developing and implementing solutions with growing ownership and confidence. Making thoughtful technical decisions and seeking feedback or guidance when needed. Balancing trade-offs in system design, scalability, and performance. Breaking down complex problems, asking the right questions, and helping to shape practical solutions. Contributing to team discussions, sharing ideas, and helping improve how the team builds and delivers software. 3+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience. Solid experience with RESTful API development and microservice architecture. Hands-on work with Java and familiarity with testing frameworks and practices. Understanding of system design fundamentals and production-grade backend systems. Experience with Kotlin and deploying to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, or similar).
