Job Description - Business Development Manager

What You'll Do At Monteith


Below is a list of core duties you can expect to perform as the Business Development lead in the Triad.

  • Analyzing market conditions to identify and pursue business opportunities that are a strong match for Monteith’s key strengths and value proposition  
  • Growing relationships with existing clients, as well as establishing new relationships with prospective clients (i.e. public and private companies, institutions, development groups, architects, engineers, etc.)
  • Developing a pipeline of business leads for construction projects, and driving those leads through the sales funnel to secure awarded work
  • Engaging in industry and/or community events that promote Monteith’s brand and culture (i.e. trade outreach events, industry conferences, etc.)
  • Connecting with local trade partners to generate interest in Monteith bids for select projects
  • Utilizing Salesforce to internally track and communicate updates on opportunities
  • Collaborating closely with internal teams to meet client/opportunity deadlines—from RFP through early-stage Preconstruction until a GMP is reached
  • Positively contributing to Monteith’s Triad office culture and community footprint

Experience You Should Have

  • Passion for the built environment, with the ideal candidate having an Intimate knowledge of the Triad real estate and construction market
  • Working knowledge and success in building a sales pipeline, converting leads to awarded business
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills to connect with various types of industry personalities/people
  • Drive to discover client needs and find creative solutions their toughest problems
