CapitalBox empowers small and medium-sized enterprises across Europe with fast and flexible working capital solutions. Operating in five countries, we bridge the SME funding gap through automated online business loans. With rapid approvals and seamless financing, we fuel business growth, recognising SMEs as the backbone of the economy.

As Chief Credit Officer (CCO) for CapitalBox, you will own and lead the credit and risk strategy across our multi-market SME lending business. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for managing the full credit lifecycle—balancing growth, risk appetite, and portfolio performance while driving data-driven decision-making across functions.

You will report directly to the CEO of CapitalBox and work closely with Product, Technology, Data, and Finance to implement a robust, scalable risk infrastructure.

Your focus:

• Define and own CapitalBox’s risk framework, credit policy, and risk appetite across multiple countries and products


• Lead credit strategy, decisioning rules, scoring model oversight, and portfolio risk monitoring


• Design and implement underwriting and risk control processes that balance automation and oversight


• Implement and coordinate collection processes and workout strategies across the entire credit portfolio


• Ensure regulatory and internal compliance across all risk practices


• Guide risk-based pricing strategy in coordination with commercial and finance teams


• Serve as the primary point of contact for risk-related matters with internal auditors, external partners, and regulatory stakeholders


• Lead continuous risk innovation: explore new data sources, predictive modeling, and advanced analytics


• Build and lead a high-performing risk team across geographies

Required skills & qualifications:

Must-have:

• Minimum 7 years of experience in a senior risk leadership role, ideally within B2B or business lending


• Strong understanding of credit risk, underwriting, portfolio management, and regulatory frameworks


• Experience with data-driven and automated decisioning environments


• Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate insights into action


• Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills
  

Nice-to-have:

• Experience working with cross-border teams and multi-market portfolios


• Familiarity with European SME financing regulations and credit bureau ecosystems
