Who will you join?

The AZ SE unit Group Compliance - German Desk - Anti-Financial Crime is the responsible compliance department covering all German Allianz Entities in the areas of Anti Money Laundering, Economic Sanctions and FATCA/CRS. 

You will join the Compliance team within the Allianz German Desk, a key unit dedicated to ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and ethical standards. The team focuses on preventing financial crimes such as money laundering, fraud, and corruption, while also managing compliance risks and fostering a strong culture of integrity. Collaborating closely with other departments and authorities, the team plays a vital role in safeguarding Allianz’s reputation and ensuring regulatory compliance in the German market.

The German Desk Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) Team is a dedicated unit within Allianz focused on ensuring compliance with financial crime regulations and safeguarding the integrity of our operations. The team collaborates closely with various departments across the organization to identify, assess, and mitigate financial crime risks. Working in a dynamic and international environment, you will have a main focus on AML in general, the screening tools including all relevant processes to protect Allianz against violations of AML regulations and to make them AMLA-ready. Data will play an important role in this position.    

How can you make an impact?

You will:

• Be part of a team that ensures Anti Financial Crime compliance for several German Allianz entities - both in terms of daily business, transformation activities (e.g. implementation Group AML Standard and AMLA requirement implementation) and projects


• Act as a Compliance Officer in the area of Anti Financial Crime with primary focus on Anti Money Laundering (AML). Eventually you might become deputy MLRO at a later stage for smaller entities


• Support the development and implementation of further functionalities in Transaction Monitoring and related tools


• Be part of the Transaction Monitoring team and help to identify and evaluate AML processes and associated compliance risks


• Advise other teams or functions on AML topics 


• Be a focal point and support to auditors and regulators during reviews


• Drive the mitigation of selected findings and recommendations from audits and internal reviews


• Support several initiatives to strengthen the AML framework including policies, controls and overall setup


• Play a key role as a subject matter expert and/or PMO for German entities in the planning and implementation of (Group) Compliance initiatives and regulatory driven changes


• Monitor laws and regulations (e.g. EU regulations) and legal developments  


• Perform controls in the context of AML activities


• Support the evolution of an MI reporting and new risk assessment for AML and CTF

What are you made of?

Minimum Qualifications

• Law, business or IT degree or equivalent job experience in the financial industry / consulting


• You have gained initial professional experience in compliance or risk management and reviews/audits, ideally in the insurance industry, a consulting firm or a relevant corporate role


• Fluency in German and a very good command of English


• Experience in collection and consolidation of data and creating reports based on it


• Understanding of processes in insurance companies or banks


• Experience of dealing with laws and an understanding of their methodology, structures and contexts. Quick comprehension and a very good ability to work in a structured, thorough and independent manner as part of a team


• You are familiar with and enjoy working on projects


• You take on topics independently and drive them forward


• You enjoy working in a team and want to simplify processes


• You are willing to familiarise yourself with unfamiliar topics, contexts and regulatory areas, and can communicate them in an appropriate manner to the target audience


• You are familiar with MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint      
          

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in insurance or asset management business functions, consulting, digital / tech is a plus


• Experience applying ChatGPT, Generative AI, and Ethical AI solution
