Job Description - Consultant Electric Propulsion System Engineer / Architect
Our client is seeking an experienced Electric Propulsion System Engineer/Architect to drive architectural concepts for complete electric driveline solutions. This role involves designing and implementing advanced electrical and electronics systems for automotive applications, focusing on high voltage systems and electric propulsion. You will lead system engineering efforts and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
Role Overview: As an Electric Propulsion System Engineer/Architect, you will design electrical and electronics systems by identifying system purposes, component interfaces, and behaviors. You will lead technical teams, ensure quality and readiness before release, and manage system architecture strategies. This role requires a deep understanding of system design, stakeholder management, and the ability to drive complex technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Design electrical and electronics systems by defining system purposes, interfaces, and behaviors.
Lead system engineering efforts, integrating deliveries from various teams and ensuring quality before release.
Participate in specification implementation and verification loops, securing system aspects of solutions.
Develop and implement system architecture strategies and roadmaps, including concept investigations and alternative explorations.
Support product managers by clarifying capabilities and breaking them down into features and enablers.
Contribute to technical and system architecture roadmaps, and lead concept investigations for approval through decision forums.
Manage interfaces and non-functional requirements within the scope of agile release trains.
Key Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in high-level system design and architecture within automotive systems.
Experience with electrical propulsion systems and high voltage systems.
Proven ability to define and balance requirements between stakeholders and technical solutions.
Strong problem-solving skills and experience in cross-domain solutions.
Experience in leading technical teams and delivering complex system solutions.
Fluent in both written and spoken English.
Desired Qualifications:
Extensive experience (10+ years) in system design engineering, preferably within the automotive industry.
Established project lead with expertise in mentoring and coaching.
Recognized subject matter expert with a deep understanding of system design and industry trends.
Strong T-shaped profile, demonstrating either deep discipline excellence or a broad generalist toolbox.
Experience in contributing to project roadmaps and strategies within the context of industry trends.
