About the position

In this position, you report to the SVP Procurement & Wood Supply, and you will have an important position in the management team for the entire function. You will be responsible for leading and coaching a dedicated team and developing the business within Sustainability & Communication. You will collaborate closely internally with other departments to strengthen our internal and external communication on sustainability issues and externally with stakeholders and media contacts. You will play a central role in our sustainability work and represent the company in industry associations and in contacts with authorities and forest policy contexts.

Areas of responsibility

  • Leading and coaching team members
  • Design and implement sustainability programs that support the company's long-term goals
  • Identify and analyze sustainability risks and opportunities within the industry
  • Ensure that the company complies with all relevant EU directives and national environmental regulations with a particular focus on the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR)
  • Organize and oversee regular audits and reporting to verify compliance
  • Promote sustainable forestry practices and responsible use of natural resources
  • Analyze and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for sustainability
  • Develop and implement internal communication strategies to educate and engage employees in sustainability initiatives
  • Foster a sustainability culture within the company
  • Manage and coordinate all external communication related to the company's sustainability initiatives and marketing efforts
  • Build and maintain relationships with media, stakeholders, and community groups
  • Develop campaigns and materials to promote the company's sustainability efforts

About you

To succeed in this position we believe you are a strategic thinker with the ability to see the bigger picture and coordinate long-term goals. You are a leader with the ability to inspire, challenge, and engage others for the best of the company. You possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal. You are diplomatic and skilled at building relationships with stakeholders, customers, and investors. We are looking for an engaged leader with a strong interest in sustainability issues. Qualifications:

  • Degree within forestry, economics, technical or other relevant field
  • Experience from working with sustainability issues at a strategic level
  • Work experience from the forestry industry
  • Excellent leadership abilities
  • Fluent in reading and writing Swedish and English
  • Experience from working with forest owners, environmental organizations, and certification processes.
  • Meritorious is the ability to coordinate and lead projects, such as the implementation of the EU's Forest Directive (EUDR)
  • Experience in driving and coordinating sustainability issues and biodiversity programs
