Job Description - Document Controller

The Document Controller ensures that engineering, construction, operations, contractual, and regulatory documentation is controlled, traceable, compliant, and accessible throughout the project's lifecycle & maintenance programs. The role manages document and changes control processes, coordinating internal and external stakeholders, and governs document flows on large‑scale industrial plant using EDMS/PLM tools.
 

Key Responsibilities

Overall areas of responsibilities and activities

  • Develop, maintain, and administer EDMS to ensure compliant document control, including Teamcenter workflows, metadata, access rights, and revisions. Maintain core document registers (Document Plan, Master Document List, CMDR, DDM) and ensure correct linkage to FBS/LBS structures and project locations.
  • Perform quality checks on contractor and supplier documentation, support regulatory and handover requirements, and ensure standardization through controlled templates, naming conventions, and guidelines.
  • Act as the primary documentation contact for assigned projects, supporting internal teams and external partners with document workflows, reviews, approvals, and reporting, while proactively following up on outstanding documents and approvals.
  • Develop and maintain document control procedures and user guides, deliver EDMS and Teamcenter training, and support system updates to ensure consistent adoption across teams.

Requirements

Educational background and previous experience required for the role

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 8+ years proven experience in Document Control within construction, engineering, manufacturing and/or large-scale industrial projects.
  • Experience using Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS) / PLM
  • Advanced experience with Teamcenter / ACC / Omega 365
  • Strong Microsoft Office 365 skills (Excel required).
  • Experience working in multicultural and international manufacturing and project environments.
     

Specific skills

  • Excellent English written and oral skills, Swedish is a plus
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented, and able to work independently.
