The Leibniz Institute for Surface Modification (IOM) researches the fundamental physical and chemical processes that enable important contributions to surface technologies using ions, electrons, plasmas and photons. The aim is to develop new functional and precise surfaces for future-oriented fields of application. We are part of the Leibniz Association, one of the four major non-university scientific organizations with 97 institutes in Germany.

Your tasks:
- Definition, modeling and monitoring of IT security processes, guidelines and documentation as well as emergency plans
- Implementation of security systems in our IT infrastructure in the areas of firewall, VPN, NAC, endpoint security and M365
- Carrying out penetration tests with subsequent identification of implementation points
- Monitoring compliance with and implementation of IT security guidelines / IT standards in accordance with BSI, ISO 27001 and institutional requirements
- If required, cyber alertness training for IOM employees
Our requirements:
- Completed training in the IT sector, comparable training with subsequent further training or university studies in the IT sector (motivated people without IT training with relevant professional experience are also welcome)
- Basic knowledge of ITIL is a prerequisite
- Ideally certifications in the IT security areas (e.g. CISSP, CCSP, CISA, CompTIA Security+)
- Initial experience in the areas of system administration and IT security is desirable
- Enjoy working on cross-departmental projects
- Independent and goal-oriented way of working with a pragmatic attitude and high team spirit
- Business fluent in written and spoken German; knowledge of English is desirable
