The Role:
Join our Design System team as a Front-end Software Engineer and play a pivotal role in crafting delightful user experiences for our users. We are passionate about innovation and building upon Neo4j, our native graph database. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop Delightful User Experiences: Your primary focus will be to create elegant and user-friendly components that teams can use to enhance the user experience of our products.
- Research, Ideate, and Iterate: Think of the Design System as your playground, where you can explore new ideas, contribute to feature ideation, and bring your innovative concepts to life.
- Obsess Over Details: Attention to detail is at the core of our design philosophy. Get lost in pixels as you meticulously craft pixel-perfect interfaces.
- Ownership and Autonomy: Join our small and highly collaborative team where you'll have the autonomy to take ownership of features from ideation through release and maintenance. Your contributions will make a tangible impact on our product.
What You'll Do:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Neo4j Browser, Aura and many more teams. Currently we have a portfolio of more than 7 user facing products.
- Continuously learn, experiment, and specialize in areas that pique your interest, contributing to both your personal growth and the team's success.
- Work with our stack that includes but not limited to TypeScript, React, Storybook and Style Dictionary
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in front-end technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern front-end frameworks (e.g. React, Angular or Vue.js).
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for creating exceptional user experiences.
- Ability to work independently and thrive in a flexible software development environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate on complex technical topics.
- Prior experience in front-end development, UI/UX design, or related roles.
- A desire to learn and contribute to the evolution of our Design System.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with design systems or component libraries.
- Familiarity with design tokens, and libraries like Style Dictionary.
- Familiarity with design tools such as Figma or Sketch.
- Previous exposure to database software, as contributor or user.
- Familiarity with monorepos.
