Legal Counsel

TL;DR - We’re hiring our first in-house counsel. You’ll own and build Lovable’s legal engine, with a focus on securing enterprise deals, designing scalable legal workflows, and help us to move fast with the right level of risk. You’ll handle tough negotiations, streamline redlines, and turn legal into a growth lever.

What we’re looking for

• 5–10 years of experience in legal roles

• 1–3 years in-house at a high-growth Series A–C startup

• Prior experience as a corporate/M&A lawyer at a top-tier law firm

• Strong commercial contracting and negotiation skills, especially with enterprise

• Solid foundation in privacy, IP, corporate, and equity law

• Familiarity with US law and cross-border contracting

• Builder mindset - you can design systems, not just review documents

• Willing to be based in Stockholm or New York (or relocate)

• Knowledge of global privacy and data laws (GDPR, CCPA, SCCs, AI Act)

• Bonus: Experience working in an AI, devtools, or infra startup

What you’ll do

In one sentence: Be the legal backbone of Lovable, move fast, protect the company, and unlock growth.

• Own and negotiate commercial contracts - from enterprise deals to vendor agreements

• Advise on corporate, equity, and fundraising matters alongside our leadership team

• Support product, marketing, and ops teams on legal risk and regulatory clarity

• Stay ahead of emerging laws in privacy, IP, AI, and global data regulation, and guide us through them

• Design lightweight legal processes that scale with the business, not slow it down

• Work closely with external counsel where needed - but stay hands-on, in-house first

• Help shape Lovable’s legal strategy as we grow from startup to global company
