Important Looking Pirates (ILP) is a multiple VES and Emmy award-winning studio and have created animation and visual effects for some of the greatest storytellers. At ILP, we have assembled one of the best visual effects teams in the business, with talents from all corners of the world. All our artists, technicians and support personnel are driven by passion for what they do and always strive to push the limits of what can be accomplished.
We are looking for freelance Midlevel and Senior 3D Generalists/Lighting artists to join the team for contracts with start dates ranging from the end of June to August. If you have experience from FX heavy shows, we are extra interested in hearing from you!
At ILP, 3D Generalist/Lighters work in a versatile role that requires skills in multiple disciplines of the VFX process. To thrive in this role, you should have a passion for shot work and solve problems on your own initiative to create the best image possible.You are specialised in artistically and technically lighting and rendering shots while maintaining the ability to take on tasks across other skill sets, when and where needed, such as modelling, layout, FX, animation and compositing.
A good understanding of the VFX pipeline and previous experience in feature film or episodic work is a plus. Great communication skills are a must.

We currently use Houdini for most scene assembly, Arnold for rendering and Nuke for compositing. To be a good fit in our environment, we believe you have a solid knowledge in these tools.
We are open to applicants based in Europe. We do not offer relocation support for these contracts.

As English is our main language in production, you need to be able to communicate effectively in English, both written and spoken
