Are you a skilled Material and process engineer ready to shape the future of industrial 3D printing? Join Freemelt in Gothenburg, Sweden, and be part of our innovative team revolutionizing metal additive manufacturing.
About Freemelt
Freemelt is an ambitious innovator in metal additive manufacturing solutions, providing cutting-edge technology to enable efficient research and to transform manufacturing industries. Our goal is to become a Productivity partner to our customers, delivering unparalleled solutions for critical and regulated applications. Join us in shaping the future of industrial 3D printing!
Job description
You understand that 3D printing is not only about geometries, shapes and speed. The opportunity to improve and tailor material properties in existing materials, and in completely new materials, is equally important. As a material and process engineer you will work experimentally with development to set up process strategies to print parts efficiently and with high quality and repeatability, and you will also work with selection of metal powders and materials for our 3D printers. The focus is on the development of material properties in test structures, not in complex parts. You will be employed in the Innovation Department.
Key responsibilities
Why you should join us
Who you are?
You have a PhD degree in physics or materials science, or equivalent technical education/experience. Programming skills are also needed.
You have extensive experience in metal 3D printing, preferably with electron beam powder bed fusion.
You master English unhindered in speech and writing.
It is meritorious also with previous experience in experimental physics, materials science and metallurgy, and/or from other areas where you have developed technical problem-solving skills.
To be successful, you must be self-propelled and passionate about understanding and solving technical problems. You have an eye for detail and understand that small changes in a process can make a big difference in the final result. You also understand that experimental work involves success as well as failure – thus grit and persistence is in your personality.
You will partly have to perform your work in protective clothing and respirator, since your tasks will involve frequent laboratory work with metal powders that can be hazardous. For this reason, you must put safety first in all your actions.
