As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing technical solutions based on given prerequisites such as function, style, volume, geometry, costs, quality target, and regulations. You will lead and support mechanical design engineering activities in a specific area and ensure the design meets business targets and requirements. Additionally, you will provide input in product and system roadmaps, participate in business development and innovation, and manage networking across the organization. You will also be expected to build relationships with universities and external institutes for your technical area.

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will apply advanced knowledge typically obtained through education and work experience (position typically requires 5 years relevant experience). You will support junior team members and peers, act as a role model for lifelong learning, and develop others as a trainer and/or coach. You will also be responsible for digging deeper in your own discipline while building a broader T-shaped profile, developing influence, and working confidently within the wider Volvo Group network. Finally, you will clearly articulate how you are creating value within your part for the TD/BA.
