Job Description - New Business Director

As a New Business Director at Johnson Hana, you will be responsible for driving €2M+ in annual revenue through the acquisition of new business. In this senior-level, individual contributor role, you will own the full sales process, from generating leads to negotiating and closing contracts, focusing on senior legal decision-makers. You will position Johnson Hana as the go-to solution for solving complex legal challenges, driving growth through outbound efforts, relationship-building, and inbound inquiries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive outbound sales strategy targeting senior legal executives, including General Counsels and Heads of Legal, to generate €2M+ in new business annually.
  • Build and manage relationships with key decision-makers, leading complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders and longer decision timelines.
  • Own the entire sales process, from prospecting to deal closure, ensuring seamless handoff to internal teams once the contract is secured.
  • Lead high-impact meetings and presentations, positioning Johnson Hana’s solutions as essential tools for solving legal challenges.
  • Manage both inbound and outbound sales channels to nurture and convert leads into new clients.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the legal sector, staying informed about industry trends, competitive offerings, and emerging market needs.
  • Prepare and deliver proposals, lead negotiations, and ensure contracts are signed, delivering revenue results in line with your €2M target.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure client expectations are met post-contract and that Johnson Hana’s solutions are positioned effectively.
  • Maintain an up-to-date and robust pipeline of opportunities, providing regular progress reports to senior leadership.

  • 10+ years of experience in sales, with a strong track record of closing complex, high-value deals in the legal or professional services sector.
  • Proven ability to engage with senior legal executives, including General Counsels and Heads of Legal, and manage relationships at the highest levels.
  • Experience managing long, complex sales cycles involving multiple decision-makers and navigating through extended lead times.
  • Demonstrated success in owning the full sales process, from initial outreach to contract closure, with the ability to independently negotiate and close large deals.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with a focus on articulating value propositions in a consultative sales environment.
  • Highly self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with CRM systems and sales pipeline management tools.
