AFRY's optics group is expanding, and we need more consultants for our assignments!

We are looking for a specialist in optics and photonics. As a consultant in this area, you will work on both in-house assignments and assignments at our customers' locations. 

Within the optics group, fostering a good team spirit is crucial. Regardless of the assignment, we maintain regular contact with group members. It should be easy to ask questions, and you should always feel that you have colleagues to discuss things with, whether within or outside your specialist area. 

You will encounter development opportunities in various areas involving applications of optical systems. These include advanced laser systems for material processing and lithography, LIDAR, and various types of optical sensors. You will work on classic lens design and design of lens systems such as objectives, collimators, and projectors. Additionally, you will be involved in the design and construction of measurement and verification systems with optics, optimization of lighting systems, and light-guiding for electronic devices or for aesthetic and practical purposes. We also offer our clients optics-related courses and tailor-made education, or we can act as advisors in optics. 

We are looking for somebody with preferably a PhD degree in optics or photonics. In addition, you have experience of building and working with optical measurement setups, ideally in a clean-room environment. You will have a lot of contact with colleagues and customers, which means that you need to have good knowledge of English, both in speech and in writing.

We are looking for someone who possesses expertise in several key areas. Ideal candidates will have experience in optical design and be proficient with Zemax or similar simulation software. A solid understanding of wave optics is essential, along with skills in concept development and optical engineering. Creativity in concept development and a strong knowledge of optical and electro-optical components are also highly valued. Additionally, experience from R&D and/or product development is important.

Salary: By agreement. Type of employment: Permanent, full-time 

The role may be security classified and involve work within the defense industry, which means you may be subject to a security clearance and background check. In such cases, Swedish citizenship is required.
