The Opportunity

As Polestar continues to grow, we must further strengthen our Internal Controls team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced and dynamic organization. This role is part of Polestar's global Internal Controls team and reports to the Global PMO Manager of Internal Control.

The Responsibilities

You will join a global, dynamic team that currently consists of nine colleagues. Your main responsibility will be to advise business operations on internal controls over financial reporting to meet the requirements of Sarbanes Oxley (SOX).

Key responsibilities/activities will include:

• Lead and coordinate the global Project Management at Polestar. Provide Guidance to team, support team to kickoff, milestone, deliver and close Key Projects.

• Support team members to complete Internal Control related projects in a timely manner.

• Act as a key stakeholder and provide requirements on Project Management. Review and evaluate Project on a regular basis. Construct and implement project management suggestions.

• Lead and participate in Risk Assessment and SOX Project scoping.

• Coach and advise business operations in risk management and control performance.

• Interact with different functions within the organisation, such as business operations, finance, digital and management.

• Provide and facilitate Internal Control related trainings.

• Support Internal Control work in other regions, including Asia and South America wherever possible.

The Ideal Candidate

We think you are you a results-driven professional with a passion for finance and project management. We're looking for an experienced, forward-thinking candidate to bring expertise and energy to our team. 

• 5+ years of experience in a relevant role, with a proven track record of success.

• Expertise in Project Management – structured, strategic, and always a step ahead.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or a related field.

• Experience in multinational companies is a plus – you’re comfortable working across global teams.

• Familiarity with US-listed companies & SOX Compliance is highly desirable.

• A deep understanding of financial flows and how they impact business decisions.

• Hands-on experience in financial business processes, internal controls, financial audits, or accounting.

• Certifications such as CA, CPA, or ACA are a great asset but not a dealbreaker.

• Strong business acumen – you don’t just crunch numbers, you connect the dots.

• Excellent communication skills – you know how to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
