About the Risk Precision team
The Risk Precision team turns risk strategy into action. We set and improve the rules, thresholds, and processes for managing Fraud, AML, and Settlement Risk. Working closely with Product, Ops, and Compliance, we make sure risk decisions are fast, accurate, and aligned with Trustly’s goals.
About the role
We are looking for a performance-driven and analytically sharp Risk Precision Policy Owner to take end-to-end ownership of our settlement risk engine. This role is central to ensuring Trustly maintains best-in-class practices in managing financial exposure linked to payment flows and counterparty behavior. You will be accountable for KPIs, own the rules and thresholds governing settlement risk, and ensure that our detection logic remains aligned with business goals and regulatory expectations. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong analytical capabilities with a structured, outcome-oriented mindset and thrives on transforming insights into tangible risk mitigation actions.
What you'll do
- Own the configuration, performance, and KPI accountability for settlement risk
- Work with Machine Learning to improve detection performance. Analyse exposure, optimise scenarios, thresholds and decision logic, and ensure KPIs stay within risk appetite
- Monitor and continuously improve the accuracy of settlement risk detection and escalation processes
- Collaborate closely with Product, Operations, and Compliance teams to align on mitigation strategies and risk-adjusted decision making
- Support the refinement of risk policies, procedures, and documentation specific to settlement risk
- Stay informed on industry developments and evolving best practices in settlement risk management
Who you are
- 5+ years of experience in risk analytics - settlement or credit, or exposure management in fintech, banking, or payments
- Solid SQL and Python skills
- Proven track record of owning performance metrics and delivering measurable improvements in risk outcomes
- Experience working with Machine Learning model outputs is a plus, especially in a risk or detection context
- Strong analytical mindset with experience managing risk thresholds and rules-based decision engines
- Excellent communicator with the ability to translate complex risk concepts into clear, actionable insights
- Skilled at navigating cross-functional collaboration and balancing risk with business needs
