Security Engineer to Operational Security Center at SEB in Stockholm

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Security Engineer with strong developer and cloud security skills to join our Security Engineering team within the Operational Security Center at SEB Stockholm.

About the Role:

As a Security Engineer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing and developing our security capabilities across both cloud and on-premises environments. Your primary responsibilities will include detection engineering, security logging, and developing robust security measures for our infrastructure. You will work closely with a team of pen-testers, vulnerability managers, incident responders, and other security engineers, as well as our Solution Architect.

Key Responsibilities:

- Continuously identify opportunities for innovation.

- Conduct system analysis and troubleshoot issues.

- Collaborate with incident responders, pen-testers, security engineers, and developers within the Operational Security Center.

- Build and Enhance our detection capabilities and security logs to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities using COTS and Open Source.

- Develop security capabilities for both on-premises and cloud environments, ensuring seamless integration and optimal security posture.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement security solutions that align with business objectives.

- Conduct regular security assessments to identify areas for improvement and mitigate risks.

- Stay abreast of emerging threats and industry best practices to continuously enhance our security protocols.

- Contribute to our OpSec knowledge hub to support the organization with best practices within the Operational Cyber Security community.

To Thrive in This Role, We Believe You Have:

- Experience in offensive or defensive cyber security roles and techniques such as Pen-testing, SOC, CIRT/CERT, XDR, SOAR, etc.

- Developer skills and/or a Sys-admin background are highly valued.

- A habit of ideating, prototyping, and verifying multiple solutions to determine the best approach.

- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices.

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

- Experience as a Cloud Security Engineer or similar role, with a strong understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), or experience with on-premises solutions that can transition to future cloud skills.

- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C#, with the ability to develop custom solutions for security automation.

- In-depth knowledge of security principles, protocols, and technologies, including encryption, authentication, and access control.

- Experience with security monitoring tools and platforms (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS, WAF, Networking, etc.).

- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

- Communication skills in Swedish (preferred) and English.
