For our client we are looking for a Senior Android Application Developer.

We are seeking an experienced Android application developer who combines strong technical skills with a pragmatic and proactive mindset. You will be part of a dynamic development environment where not everything is fully defined, and your ability to move forward despite ambiguity will be key to success.

You will be part of the Application team in Gothenburg and contribute to evolving, developing and maintaining our infotainment solution. Our products are already available on the market and more to come. This requires a systematic approach to continuous product updates and configurability. As an experienced developer, we are certain that your knowledge and ideas will help us to grow our footprint in the Automotive Infotainment market.

As a global company with different customers, the work involves interaction with several stakeholders. To enable focused work, we are organized in agile teams with a Product Owner that handles prioritizations.

Job Responsibilities

In your work as a senior software developer your key tasks are to design and implement native platform software for AOSP based infotainment solutions and develop Android applications using Kotlin and Java for next-generation automotive solutions.

In this we take for granted that as a senior developer;

• you design and develop with a focus on clean, high-quality, maintainable code.

• you collaborate closely with global cross-functional teams to define features,

• you troubleshoot issues and optimize performance in your selected area

• you contribute to the improvement of Android development processes, tooling, and architecture, participate in code reviews and promote best practices in Android development and in this utilize key Android components such as Activities, Services, Content Providers, Broadcast Receivers, and Intents to build robust solutions.

Job Requirements

• M.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience in software development.

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in Android development, ideally within the automotive or infotainment domain.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

• Proven expertise in Kotlin and Java with strong proficiency in Android Studio.

• Deep experience with native AOSP development using the Soong/Make build system.

• Solid understanding of the Android SDK and platform architecture.

• Familiarity with Android runtime resource overlays (RRO), system-level permissions, and privileged apps is a plus.

• Experience with automotive communication protocols and/or QNX is a strong advantage.

• Comfort working with AI tools to accelerate development and optimize code.

• Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese is highly desirable to facilitate collaboration with international teams.

• A valid driver’s license is a plus for in-vehicle testing and validation tasks.
