Senior Concept Artist (freelance) Art · Malmö · Fully Remote

We are looking for a talented Senior Concept Artist with a passion for world building to help us push our creations to the next level. In this role you will be responsible for creating a wide range of concepts for environments, characters, and props that will set the visual direction for our artists.

This is a 3-6 month freelance position, work is done fully remote.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Creative Director to help build the game’s artistic vision through various sketches and detailed concepts describing the different spaces, characters and technological props that will appear in our realistic sci-fi world
• Create sketches and highly detailed concept art to be used by asset- and environment artists
• Create storyboards for cut-scenes and important story moments
• Research and propose concept references together with the Creative Director

Qualifications:

• Proven experience working in the video games or film industry. Preferably you should have experience of multiple mid- to large-scale productions.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality concepts of props and environments. Ideally your portfolio includes sci-fi environments with a more detailed/realistic style.
• Ability to deliver high-quality concepts for environments, props and characters
• Excellent knowledge of composition, perspective, color theory, anatomy, real-world materials and lighting
• Open to feedback and iteration
• Team player with a professional attitude and work ethic
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills (English)

Will be a plus:

• Familiarity with video game product development including workflow, tools, limits of technology, storyboarding and marketing material
• Skills in typography and graphic design
• Interest in playing video games and game development beyond art
• You are a fan of dark sci-fi such as Alien, Blade Runner and the Thing, and futuristic anime such as Ghost in the Shell, Akira and Blame
