Senior Design Engineer

We are now strengthening our department, with a primary focus on Machine Engineering in our delivery projects. The Senior Design Engineer position is part of the Project Execution organization, where your experience and expertise will contribute to the continuous development of our products and working methods in our delivery projects. Focus will be on service rebuild projects, delivery of improvement projects and designing customized solutions. You will be based in Karlstad (Sweden).

Your responsibilities

• Act as Lead Engineer in machine discipline projects.
• Prepare manufacturing documentation based on design specifications and customer requirements.
• Design project-adapted components, new products, and technical solutions.
• Participate in problem-solving, continuous improvement, and technical investigations.
• Participate in customer meetings, both digital and on-site.
• Provide technical support related to manufacturing issues to suppliers, both nationally and internationally.
• Travel may be required for supplier inspections and customer visits.

Who is the candidate we are looking for

• BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years of experience in machine design, or equivalent qualifications.
• Experience in project management within technical projects and delivery of machinery.
• Strong knowledge in mechanical design, technical drawings, applicable standards, and regulations.
• Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, PDM, COMOS, and MS Office.
• Knowledge of pressure vessels is considered an advantage.
• Fluent in both Swedish and English, written and spoken; additional languages are a plus.
• Self-driven, proactive, structured problem-solver who works methodically and shares knowledge.
• Team player who is also comfortable stepping forward when challenges arise.
• Experience from rebuild projects and customized solutions is an advantage.
• Experience from the pulp and paper industry or manufacturing industry is an advantage.
• Valid driver’s license (B).
