Our R&D team is now looking to hire an experienced Engineering Manager with strong technical expertise to continue our journey towards becoming an efficient and impactful R&D organization with high engagement and motivation.

As a leader in our Engineering organisation, you will make a real impact on the fight against climate change and play a crucial role in helping companies achieve their NetZero goals and contribute to a sustainable future.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE IN IMPACT

As an Engineering Manager at Normative, you are an integral part of the team's leadership and ultimately responsible for the team reaching its goals. You will lead a team of talented engineers, ensuring exceptional delivery on our carbon accounting products as well as a healthy technical platform. You will be in close partnership with the product manager and the product designer to align the team’s effort with the company's strategic goals, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Advocate and advance effective software development practices and help the team develop well architected and high quality code.
• Empower the team to focus on the right problems, and in close collaboration with the product manager pave the way for the team hitting its goals.
• Form the product roadmap together with product management and design and ensure initiatives are feasible and technically sound. Highlight product opportunities from a technical perspective.
• Work with and contribute to the engineering management group and R&D leadership on our processes, initiatives and long-term goals to accelerate our product development and ultimately positive impact on the climate.
• Develop engineers through coaching and mentoring; by conducting regular 1:1s, setting goals and feedback conversations to support them in their growth as engineers.
• Make sure that there is a high level of teamwork, transparency, and efficiency in the team and in collaboration with other teams.
• Continuously work to improve inclusion and belonging in your team and within our organization.

WHAT YOU BRING

• Experience leading cross functional software engineering teams in a fast paced, delivery focused environment. Preferably from a SaaS environment.
• Strong technical background with significant practical experience in software development - ideally across the full stack, and bonus if has experience with design system.
• Hands on leadership, communication and team-building skills.
• The ability to grow and engage engineering teams through the day to day work.
• Strong product and business mindset, coupled with a get-things-done attitude.

TECHNOLOGY SETUP

• We aim to use a consistent set of technologies across the teams where this is feasible. We would rather do a great job once than a mediocre job multiple times over.
• Our primary technology stack is Typescript using NodeJS on the backend services. We are finalizing our migration to PostgreSQL from MongoDB.
• Our frontend is built on Svelte with a few legacy areas built Angular. These are getting migrated to Svelte as we develop each area further.
• For our carbon calculation services as well as artificial intelligence we primarily use Python and related technologies.
• We are hosted in AWS and are in the final stages of consolidating our hosting and deployment setup.

LOCATION

Normative operates on a hybrid remote model with offices in Stockholm, Copenhagen, and London. For this role you will be located in our wonderful HQ in Stockholm to stay close to the teams as well as the wider leadership group with R&D.




At this time we are not able to offer relocation or VISA support for this position.
