As a Solar Engineer , you will collaborate with other technical professionals to provide consulting services to our existing customers and explore new opportunities.

You’ll have the chance to learn about the technical aspects of solar PV plants by participating in various projects, conducting Energy Production Assessments, making site visits, reviewing contractual terms, managing tender processes, and monitoring construction and operations.

The role also involves elements of business development, marketing, and sales support. This includes working cohesively within the region to establish long-term customer relationships, staying informed about industry needs and trends, and participating in industry events to ensure that DNV’s service offerings are well-known and respected in the power industry.

As a valuable member of the Solar & Battery Storage section, you’ll collaborate closely with experienced Consultants and Specialists from other teams in the region and globally, leveraging the company’s global networks to enhance the energy advisory business and optimize project delivery quality.

Your responsibilities in the role of Solar Engineer include:

  • Project management for small, less complex projects
  • Technical due diligence during the pre-construction and operational phases of projects, including data analysis, documentation review, and risk assessment
  • Technology and design review and optimization of solar PV plants (both utility and C&I scale)
  • Site visits to solar farms
  • Solar Resource Assessments and Energy Production Assessments
  • Contributing to winning new external work by expanding ongoing projects.

To be a successful candidate need:

  • Previous experience in the solar sector, ideally at least two years in consultancy or engineering companies
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in solar/renewable energy, engineering, physics, or another relevant discipline
  • Proficiency in English and Swedish
  • Willingness to travel short distances across the country and internationally
  • Experience with PVsyst and other PV modeling software, AutoCAD, and Python
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
  • A valid driving license.
