The diverse team you join currently consist of 5 members with mixed background, age, gender, and nationality. We work both with individual and common tasks and support each other as needed. As a senior engineer we expect you to take lead in critical and complex cases but also to train, mentor and coach other engineers.
What you will do
In a fast-changing environment, Volvo more than ever needs a robust Supply Chain, whit in electromobility, to fulfil its engagement in front of customers, shareholders, and society. To create a world class supply chain, we need you to assess the performance of key supply partners.
We are creating a vital link between our supply chain, our factories, and our customers. As Senior Lean Manufacturing Engineer you will be developing and improving supply partner performance in terms of capacity, efficiency etc. In this role you will apply lean principles and tools to map and analyse manufacturing systems and complete supply chains and suggest improvements. You will coach and challenge supply partner management in implementation to secure we reach our targets.
Who are you?
To succeed in the role, we think you are a seasoned lean coach or have worked in a similar role before where you have been applying lean principles and tools hands on and worked with senior management to drive change. In this role you collaborate cross functionally with buyers, supplier quality engineers, cost engineers and other stakeholders. Therefore, we believe you thrive when you get to interact and team up with people. You communicate effectively and adapt to prevailing circumstances.
With your technical background and analytical outlook, you drive improvement actions together with the supply partners. You tackle challenges as they arise and switch between the helicopter perspective and detail focus. We believe that you are able to drive your own agenda and to prioritize as you will often be involved in multiple tasks. In addition, you have the ability to crunch data and quantify improvements into financial measurables. You create a professional environment in which you encourage supply partners to develop themselves to improve their performance.
