As a Staff Accountant, you will be part of our Accounting and Finance Team and play an important role in helping manage the Company's financial health to keep our expansion plans moving forward! You will interact and collaborate with your team members with Company month and year-end closings, account reconciliations, and financial statement schedules and utilize your accounting expertise and skills to help us achieve our organizational objectives and ensure customer success and satisfaction. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Perform month-end close activities, including preparation of journal entries and reconciliations for various balance sheet and income statement accounts.
  • Perform daily bank reconciliations, record deposits, identify and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Post and transmit invoices and apply customer payments.
  • Prepare monthly WIP templates and Project Management dashboards.
  • Complete and maintain cross-training on AP, AR, and payroll.
  • Develop competency in all associated departmental software.
  • Improve processes related to the above-listed duties and responsibilities.
  • Complete special projects assigned by the Accounting Manager.
  • Participate in estimate review with of other estimators prior to submission.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Accounting, Economics, or Finance.

Experience: 2+ years of full-cycle general ledger accounting experience (Construction experience preferred).

  • Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (advanced Excel skills preferred).
  • Excellent organizational skills with careful attention to detail and timely follow-through in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be self-directed and capable of prioritizing and handling multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Able to work effectively in time-sensitive environments to meet required task deadlines.
  • Desire and ability to continually learn.
  • Professional attitude and appearance.
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise.
  • Positive customer focused attitude with both internal and external customers.
