Job Description - Communication Manager



Inter IKEA is a group of companies that connects IKEA retailers with range development and suppliers and aligns the overall IKEA strategic direction. It consists of three Core businesses: Retail concept, Range and Supply.

IKEA Supply is responsible to source, manufacture and distribute IKEA products to the IKEA retailers. This to secure customer availability in all markets and sales channels at lowest total cost.

IKEA Industry, part of the Inter IKEA Group, is the world’s largest producer of wooden furniture and is an integrated part of the IKEA value chain. As IKEA’s own furniture manufacturer our role is to offer a unique advantage for IKEA as a world leader in home furnishing. IKEA Industry has more than 30 production units, across 18 sites in 7 countries: Poland, Slovakia, Portugal, Sweden, Lithuania, China and Hungary. Our operations include forestry, sawmills, boards, component and furniture production. IKEA culture and values shape everything we do. Job Description



We are on an exciting journey In IKEA Industry and we have strong need to increase our presence towards our many stakeholders within IKEA but also towards IKEA Industry partners. As Communication Manager, you will be leading this journey together with the communication team.

In the Communication manager role you will report to the IKEA Industry Manager and be part of the IKEA Industry management team. Within this role we see you acting as a strategic and tactical partner to define and enable the communication needs and goals for IKEA Industry. You and your team will contribute to the implementation of business strategies, priorities and processes by leading development and implementation across functions and organisations in IKEA.

You will also be a permanent invitee to the IKEA Supply communication management team. As a member of this team you will be an active contributor to create pre-conditions for the IKEA Supply communication community to work efficiently and effectively towards IKEA Supply objectives.

You will:

  • Manage, coach, develop and inspire your team of direct reports as well as the indirect reporting network of communicators located in our factories.
  • Secure a transparent and sustainable information/communication flow within IKEA Industry across Inter IKEA and to other stakeholders in the IKEA network.
  • Be a strategic partner to co-workers and business leaders to enable them to lead with communication.
  • Contribute to development of the total information landscape across different channels.
  • Contribute to a shared communication agenda and identify opportunities for alignment within IKEA Industry and across the full IKEA network.
  • Be an active contributor to the communication community across Supply and IKEA
  • Be an active partner to the Media relations team to secure proactive and reactive media relations related towards external stakeholders
  • Develop the communication competence in the area and enable others to lead with communication and represent the IKEA Brand according to the IKEA values and tone of voice 
  • Lead and execute planned processes for change management and communication

Qualifications



You are a strong business minded person with a passion for both business and communication, and how to lead and develop a team!
You dare to think differently, and you have an agile approach and adapt as you go. You are interested in finding new ways of working and are highly motivated to do this by leading our business agenda through people and collaborate and interact with many different stakeholders, creating new relations and networks.

You have excellent leadership skills with the ability to communicate verbally, visually and in writing in an inspirational way in an IKEA tone of voice. Furthermore, you have an extensive experience of crisis management and working in a dynamic, global context and experience from manufacturing area is a plus. You have professional integrity and an ability to plan and handle multiple topics and changing priorities and deadlines.
