Accountant

Job Description:

We are looking for a dedicated and hardworking Accountant to join our team at Shopify in Uppsala, Sweden. As an Associate Level Accountant, you will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations. You will work closely with the finance team to provide accurate and timely financial information to support decision-making within the organization.

Responsibilities: - Prepare and maintain financial records, including general ledger entries, bank reconciliations, and financial statements - Analyze financial data and provide insights to help drive business decisions - Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist with tax filing processes - Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes - Conduct financial audits and implement internal controls to safeguard financial assets - Collaborate with other departments to provide financial support and guidance - Stay up-to-date on accounting standards and best practices

Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance - 3+ years of experience in accounting or related field - Strong analytical and planning skills - Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel - Excellent communication and organizational skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - CPA certification is a plus
