Market Data Analyst

As one of the premier suppliers to our international banking client in Basel, Swisslinx are looking for an experienced Market Data Analyst with knowledge of Market data and monetry policy tools to work in a small and highly experienced business facing team on a contract basis. The client is open to wait for the right candidate.


This is a 12 month contract running with chance to extend, sometimes up to five years.


In this role you will support external trading platforms, analyze market data for strategic decisions, and ensure projects meet business needs efficiently.


Your responsibilities will include the following:


• Operational responsibility - Support and help develop the governance processes relating to Market Data and Trading Venues. Assist with invoice reconciliation and payment of Market Data and Trading Venues transaction invoices. Support and help develop accurate forecasting of Market Data usage.


• Business analysis and requirements specification - Analyse and design business processes surrounding Market Data and Trading Venues operations. Translate business requirements into business and technical specifications, employing best industry practice. Interact with the relevant design teams regarding translating requirements into detailed system specifications.


• Project - Participate in projects according to the BIS Project Arrangements. Ensure that agreed deliverables, milestones, targets and budgets are observed, and advise corrective measures where necessary in cooperation with the project manager, project owner and steering committees. Projects include Market Data optimisation initiative and Market Data governance improvements.


• Change management - Ensure changes to the Market Data and Trading Venues estate is performed according to Banking IT Change Management and Market Data governance processes.


• Coordination / communication - Ensure effective communication to the Market data team, business areas, including Front, Middle Office, Risk and Finance, as well as other supporting functions.


In order to be considered for this role, you will possess the following skills and experience:
• Around 3 years' work experience supporting Market Data operations in a banking environment.
• University degree - (economics, business administration or finance)
• Proven commercial support of Market Data providers such as Bloomberg, Refinitiv, CME and similar vendors.
• Experience with planning and running workshops and meetings independently. Produce materials in support of requirements gathering.


The following is nice to have:
• Experience in defining controls and documenting evidence in support of compliance. Including, experience in the use of reconciliation tools (recon between invoices and budget or what?).
• Knowledge of data management. Including: data structures and different types of data models; data governance and big data.
• Technical knowledge of market data messaging technologies such as FIX or similar.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to market data


Please note interviews would be conducted via video call, however the role is based 100% in Switzerland. Our client offers:
