Job Description:

 

The mechanical engineer is responsible for the development of packaging machines. They are responsible for the design, process development, and documentation of the machines.

 

  • Conceptualization and design of packaging machines
  • Technical feasibility studies
  • Prototype development and testing
  • Teamwork with other engineers, technicians, and production
  • Compliance with standards and regulations

Day to day Responsibilities:

 

  • You design innovative solutions for packaging machines that meet customer requirements in terms of performance, efficiency, flexibility, and cost-effectiveness.
  • You develop technical specifications, design concepts, conduct feasibility studies, and collaborate on solutions with the project team.
  • Design solutions in CAD.
  • Preparation of documentation (manufacturing drawings, interactive assembly drawings, SAP bill of materials, technical manual instructions).
  • You create prototypes and conduct internal tests and field tests to ensure performance, reliability, and safety. You analyze test results and derive appropriate measures for improvement.
  • Serialization and introduction of the first production machine at customer sites.
  • Occasional customer visits and field testing activities to investigate requirements and test solutions.
  • Compliance with standards and regulations, especially regarding safety and quality standards.

Education, Experience, and Certifications:

 

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (FH, BSc) or Technical Engineering (HF)
  • Demonstrated experience in design and development in the machinery industry.
  • 5 years of experience in 3D CAD design
  • Experience with SolidWorks Tools 3D CAD, Composer, and PDM advantageous
  • Experience with SAP or another ERP system advantageous

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

  • Familiarity with relevant standards and regulations in mechanical engineering and safety.
  • Analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and teamwork ability.
  • Manages tasks, small projects, and priorities independently.
  • Possesses solid business acumen and is interested in the profitability of the product and customer satisfaction.
  • Languages: German and English (company language).
  • Communication skills, resilience, teamwork, self-responsibility.
