Business Development Project Director

The position

In this exiting position as our CMR Business Development Project Director, you will be joining the newly established CMR Business Development and Portfolio Management team within IO CMR, based out of Zurich, Switzerland.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Central Point of Contact : Serve as the main liaison for business development (BD) activities with headquarter Development External Innovation (DEI), focusing on work processes, due diligence and integration tasks.
• Capability Development : Establish and maintain IO CMR capabilities to support BD, including coordinating timely input for deal teams, leading integration efforts, ensuring organizational readiness for asset integration, and exploring opportunities to utilize IO CMR resources effectively.
• Framework and Tool Development : Develop frameworks and tools to ensure consistent, planned, and repeatable execution of activities within the scope of BD.
• Stakeholder Engagement : Elevate IO CMR needs to global and cross-functional decision-makers, closely collaborating with Portfolio Management teams to provide a comprehensive understanding of the internal and external development pipeline.
• Communication and Risk Management : Ensure effective communication to IO CMR leadership regarding relevant updates and decision-making processes, while also assessing risks and implementing mitigations as necessary, and collaborating with stakeholders across IO CMR and other relevant functions to achieve objectives.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have a minimum of five to seven years’ experience in a similar position in a multinational pharmaceutical or MedTech company, as well as a proven track record of driving business development initiatives and change management at both strategic and tactical/operational levels in a global setting within the pharmaceutical industry.

Furthermore,

• Knowledge or understanding of clinical development, medical affairs and/or regulatory affairs will be a strong advantage.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills with strong ability to influence in a matrixed organization.
• Experience working in an international, matrix environment enabling you to effectively interact with and influence colleagues across functions.
• You hold an advanced degree in business, business development, Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D), Doctor of Medicine (M.D.), or a similar field.

About the department

In Clinical, Medical and Regulatory Affairs (CMR) our focus is to improve patient lives. By doing so we contribute to the short-to-midterm business goals and establish future growth drivers for Novo Nordisk. We ensure that our Clinical programs in IO are executed effectively and efficiently in 55 countries, drive medical strategies and tactics for in-line brands and New Therapy Area development, strengthen the regulatory and PV function for faster time to market with the best label, and steer functional projects to maximize the impact of CMR.

You will be joining the CMR Business Development and Portfolio Management department, which has been recently established and is responsible to drive both internal and external portfolio management discussions, drive International Operations input to drug development process, and drive strategic resource planning to build an organization ready to deliver to the pipeline.
