Join our team as a Senior Commodity Analyst in the dynamic world of trading. Make use of your expertise to develop trading strategies, analyze market trends and make profitable trading decisions.

We strive to understand the energy market in its complexity. The transition from fossil energy carriers to a decarbonized system is just at it’s beginning. In this job you can build on your skills in traditional commodity trading and venture into the new world of Low Carbon Fuels.

What will you do

• Fundamental analysis of coal markets, mandatory emission schemes, voluntary emission markets
• Identify trading opportunities in new markets of Low Carbon Fuels
• Maintain the supply and demand models we have
• Develop and enhance the model to cover new products
• Real-time analysis of market events, news, regulatory changes
• Participate in risk positions with traders, communicate your view
• Liaise with analysts on the neighboring desks Oil, LPG, Gas, Power, Midterm Analytics
• Develop scenarios of potential outcomes of events, policy, and geopolitical developments, to be used as inputs for energy price forecasting

What you bring & who you are

• You have a Master’s Degree in Business, Economics, Science or Engineering
• You have several years of professional experience in the energy business
• Knowledge of coal markets is preferred
• Strong commercial mindset
• Strong analytical skills, ability to transfer knowledge between analysis and trading
• Expertise in data analytics, statistics and problem-solving
• Programming proficiency in Python, PowerBI; others of advantage
• Fluent in English; basic German
• Extensive understanding of energy supply chains and commodities such as oil, gas, biofuels, hydrogen, petrochemicals, mining
