Job Description - Application Engineer

LIGENTEC is a fast-growing European company with headquarter in Lausanne, Switzerland. Since 2021 we expanded our manufacturing capabilities by creating LIGENTEC France, in the South of Paris. We specialize in the design & manufacturing of Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs) for customers in high-tech areas such as Quantum Technologies, LiDAR, Space Technologies, and Biosensors.

LIGENTEC All-Nitride (AN) technology enables our customers to develop their products in the Industrial Revolution 4.0.

You are about to enter this unique opportunity to bring R&D to product.

To support our continued growth, we are looking for a:

Application Engineer

Tasks

  • Cultivating positive customer relationships and acting as a high level customer interface, explaining technology details, giving in depth technical presentations, and assisting in applications development.
  • Conduct customer training and translate customer needs into workable solutions.
  • Technical product expert assisting with all phases of the sales cycle.
  • Customer support for pre-sales and after-sales questions.
  • Provide continuous feedback to R&D and product development on performance, features, and potential problems
  • Work with CRM tool to keep track of customer interactions
  • Provide proof of concept PIC design studies and PIC Layouts using available software packages
  • Elaborate and discuss SoW with customers, prospects and project partners
  • Contribute to the marketing strategy with content and activities (talks, application notes, press releases, webinars, etc.)
  • Understand and analyse market trends and requirements
  • Research, write, and manage grant proposals
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders and project partners

Requirements

  • Highly customer and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to translate customer wishes to clear specifications
  • PhD in integrated optics or 3+ years’ experience in integrated optics
  • Hands-on experience with integrated photonics software tools
  • Excellent technical problem-solving skills
  • Open minded, communicative, critical, and innovative
  • Flexible in working on different tasks and with different teams
  • Ability to work in a team and independently.
  • Working proficiency in English
