As we expand our autonomy program, we seek a talented Program Manager to join our HQ in Zurich and help steer our product delivery forward.
Role Overview
As the Autonomy Program Manager, you will coordinate a cross-functional group of approximately 35 engineers across six functional teams. You’ll play a pivotal role in leading annual, quarterly, and sprint planning rituals, ensuring alignment with Gravis’s product and engineering groups. By focusing on capacity planning, cross-functional collaboration, on-time delivery, and dependencies mapping, you will maintain clarity and visibility of development priorities and progress across the organization.
Success in this role means effectively orchestrating teams and resources to meet product milestones while fostering transparency and confidence among both technical and business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Comprehensive Program Coordination
- Own the end-to-end program plan for autonomy initiatives, in alignment with company-level objectives and key results (OKRs).
- Coordinate annual, quarterly, and sprint planning sessions, ensuring that each iteration’s goals are clear and achievable.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Alignment
- Work closely with product managers and engineering leads to establish and maintain a shared roadmap for hardware and software deliverables.
- Drive clarity and visibility of development progress, providing regular status updates and clear milestone tracking.
Capacity Planning & Resource Management
- Conduct ongoing assessments of team capacity to ensure each product squad is properly staffed for upcoming sprints.
- Manage resource allocation and adjust plans based on changing requirements or shifting priorities.
Agile & Product Operating Model
- Champion best practices for Agile methodologies, leveraging tools like Jira and Confluence to track sprints and maintain a clear knowledge base.
- Facilitate process improvements within the autonomy program, ensuring consistent, efficient workflows across squads.
Technical Engagement & Trust-Building
- Maintain a solid understanding of robotics fundamentals—covering sensors, embedded systems, and control software—to engage meaningfully with engineers.
- Participate in technical discussions to identify and resolve interdependencies, bridging program management and engineering perspectives.
Reporting & Stakeholder Communication
- Create dashboards and reports to visualize progress, risk, and dependencies for both technical teams and executives.
- Escalate issues proactively, ensuring decision-makers have the information needed to address challenges promptly.
- Help track and report company objectives and key results where applicable.
