THE ROLE

We are seeking a Compliance Officer for the Geneva office of a growing international wealth manager with offices in Switzerland and the Middle East. The role provides compliance advisory to the front office and covers onboarding and controls for a private client base. As the compliance presence in Geneva, the successful candidate will sit with the business and work closely with the central compliance function. Fluency in English is essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Act as the compliance advisory contact for relationship managers in Geneva on client onboarding, KYC and enhanced due diligence, with a focus on politically exposed persons and complex wealth structures.

Review and approve onboarding files and perform the related compliance controls, including transaction monitoring and name screening (LexisNexis, World-Check).

Handle cross-border matters, including travel approvals and debriefing interviews after client trips, in line with the cross-border framework.

Escalate compliance concerns to the business and to senior management clearly and firmly, and document decisions and exceptions.

Coordinate with the central compliance function on controls, reporting and regulatory topics, and contribute to the further development of the compliance framework.

YOUR PROFILE

Several years of compliance experience in Swiss wealth management or private banking, in a role combining client advisory and controls.

Sound knowledge of FINMA requirements, the Swiss AML framework and cross-border rules; experience with clients and markets in the Middle East is a strong advantage.

A seasoned, independent personality, able to work as the only compliance officer on site, hold a position with strong personalities and escalate without taking it personally.

A practical, pragmatic working style with excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Fluency in English, written and verbal, is required; French is an advantage.
