We are seeking a seasoned Subject Matter Expert (SME) in financial instrument data to support the successful implementation and post-deployment operations of the S&P Security Master File. This role is central to a broader transformation initiative aimed at enhancing our client’s data management framework and ensuring best-in-class market data quality across the organization.

Your Mission

In a context where financial market data is a key enabler of strategic and operational performance, you will play a pivotal role in driving the modernization of enterprise data management capabilities. By leveraging your expertise in data modeling and deep understanding of financial instruments, you will bridge the gap between business requirements and technology solutions, ensuring scalable and robust data operations.

Key Responsibilities

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

• Partner closely with product heads and data consumers across business lines to understand their needs and ensure alignment with data initiatives.
• Act as a liaison between internal clients and delivery teams, fostering strong relationships to promote operational excellence and continuous data quality improvement.
• Collaborate with data analysts to identify pain points and propose technical solutions that enhance data accuracy, workflow efficiency, and platform sustainability.
• Co-manage vendor relationships with business stakeholders, ensuring contractual and operational alignment.

Technical Leadership

• Provide expert guidance to development teams on solution design and system architecture related to instrument data.
• Ensure integration with other systems and platforms is seamless, secure, and scalable.
• Lead technical assessments and reviews to ensure compliance with standards and project milestones.
• Work in coordination with delivery and support teams to align implementations with broader business goals.
• Define and enforce data security and reliability measures across the platform.
• Monitor system health and proactively address risks and issues.

Education & Experience

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, Engineering or related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in financial services, with a focus on market data or enterprise data management.
• Solid expertise in instrument data modeling and market data systems.

Technical Competencies

• Deep knowledge of enterprise data platforms, system architecture, and development practices.
• Strong command of Microsoft SQL Server; ability to understand and write advanced SQL queries.
• Experience with designing, developing, and maintaining mission-critical, data-driven systems.
• Proven capability in data modeling, particularly within the context of financial instruments.

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, with the ability to grasp complex functional requirements.
• Strategic thinker, able to propose and implement innovative data solutions.
• Clear communication skills, fluent in both English and French.
• Experience in managing senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
• Previous exposure to private banking or wealth management environments is a plus.
• Willingness to travel internationally for short-term missions.
