Director, Business Development

VCLS is looking for an experienced and strategic Director, Business Development to join our team and lead initiatives that drive business growth and client acquisition in the Life Sciences sector. This position will focus on expanding our market presence, building strong partnerships, and increasing revenue through innovative business development strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the Life Sciences industry to achieve sales and profitability targets.
  • Develop and nurture strong relationships with clients, partners, and key stakeholders to enhance client retention and satisfaction.
  • Collaborate across departments including marketing, service delivery, and leadership to align business development goals with overall company strategy.
  • Lead the preparation and presentation of business proposals, negotiations, and contract management.
  • Represent VCLS at industry conferences, networking events, and other platforms to promote company services and expand professional networks.
  • Provide market insights and gather competitive intelligence to inform strategic business decisions.


Requirements
  • Extensive experience in business development, within the Life Sciences or related sectors.
  • Experience of the Swiss market, with deep knowledge of the local Life Science ecosystem
  • Proven track record of successfully driving business growth and meeting revenue targets.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with an entrepreneurial mindset and ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Deep understanding of the Life Sciences industry landscape and market dynamics.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in business, life sciences, or related field preferred.
