About the Role

As Executive Assistant to the Group Chief Underwriting Officer (GCUO), you will be a trusted partner and the operational backbone of one of Swiss Re's most senior executives. This is far more than a traditional EA role — you will be a strategic enabler, ensuring the GCUO can focus on what matters most by seamlessly managing the flow of information, people, and priorities around them. Your discretion, agility, and proactive mindset will be essential as you navigate a dynamic, international environment at the highest levels of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Diary & Schedule Management: Proactively manage a complex, fast-moving calendar, anticipating conflicts and ensuring the GCUO's time is optimally allocated across priorities


• Strategic Prioritisation: Apply sound judgement to strategically prioritise requests and competing demands, ensuring the GCUO's focus and energy are directed where they matter most


• Gatekeeper Role: Act as a trusted gatekeeper for inbound requests, managing access to the GCUO with professionalism, tact, and efficiency


• People Leadership: Lead, develop, coach, and empower 1 or 2 direct reports, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous growth within the executive office


• Correspondence Management: Handle, prioritise, draft, and coordinate high-volume incoming and outgoing communications in both English and German, ensuring clarity, professionalism, and timely follow-up


• Deadline Tracking: Maintain a rigorous overview of key deadlines and deliverables, proactively flagging and escalating where needed to keep commitments on track


• Meeting Preparation: Compile, organise, and ensure the timely availability of briefing materials, presentations, and background documents for meetings and engagements


• Financial Administration: Manage expense reporting and process incoming invoices accurately and efficiently in line with company policies


• Stakeholder Coordination: Serve as the central coordination point between the GCUO, senior leadership, key internal and external stakeholders — building trusted relationships across all levels


• Confidentiality & Judgement: Handle highly sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion, sound judgement, and professionalism at all times


• Operational Excellence: Continuously identify opportunities to improve processes and ways of working to enhance the effectiveness of the executive office

About the Team

This role sits within Group Underwriting, a high-impact function at the core of Swiss Re's business. The Group Underwriting team is responsible for setting and steering Swiss Re's global underwriting strategy, standards, and frameworks across all lines of business. Working at the intersection of risk, strategy, and leadership, the team operates with a global remit and collaborates closely with senior leaders and business units across the organisation. As EA to the GCUO, you will be embedded at the very centre of this influential team, supporting its most senior leader.

We are looking for candidates who meet these requirements:

• 7+ years of professional experience in a comparable Executive Assistant or senior administrative role within a corporate environment


• Bilingual proficiency in English and German — both written and spoken — with the ability to draft polished, professional correspondence in both languages


• Exceptional organisational skills, with a proven ability to manage competing priorities, complex schedules, and tight deadlines without losing attention to detail

These are additional nice to haves:

• Experience supporting C-suite or Group Executive Committee-level leaders in a multinational organisation


• Familiarity with the financial services, insurance, or reinsurance industry


• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence to liaise with and influence senior stakeholders across cultures and geographies


• Attentiveness to detail and quality — a natural drive to get things right the first time, every time


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and digital collaboration tools


• A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement in ambiguous situations

For Switzerland, the base salary range for this position is between 94'000 CHF and 142'000 CHF for a full-time role.

• The requirements, scope, complexity and responsibilities of the role


• The applicant's own profile including education/qualifications, expertise, specialisation, skills and experience

In the situation where you do not meet all the requirements or you significantly exceed these, the offered salary may be below or above the advertised range. In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for additional rewards and benefits including an attractive performance-based annual bonus.
