Finance Manager Shipping & Commodities Trading

An international company operating in the shipping and commodities trading industry is looking for a technically strong, hands-on accountant ready to take the next step in their career and lead a finance team.



The position oversees the accounting, tax, reporting, treasury and compliance activities of the company’s Swiss Head Office.



Key Responsibilities



Manage the full accounting cycle, including general ledger, AP, AR, accruals and reconciliations.



Lead and develop a team of accounting and reporting professionals.



Manage monthly and annual closings, financial statements and Group reporting.



Ensure compliance with Swiss accounting, tax, VAT and statutory requirements.



Coordinate audits and tax submissions with external advisers.



Oversee treasury, payments, bank reconciliations and cash-flow monitoring.



Prepare budgets, forecasts and management analyses.



Monitor intercompany transactions and transfer-pricing documentation.



Maintain strong internal controls and approval processes.



Improve financial processes, reporting and automation.



Support the CFO with analysis and strategic finance projects.



Candidate Profile



Very strong accountant ready to progress into a broader management role.



At least five to eight years of relevant accounting, finance or audit experience.



Strong knowledge of Swiss tax, VAT and statutory-reporting requirements.



Previous experience in shipping, commodities trading or a related international environment is preferred.



Comfortable remaining hands-on while managing and developing a team.



Good knowledge of IFRS, Excel and ERP or accounting systems.



Fluent professional English.



Based in Switzerland with valid Swiss work authorization.
