Job Description

Your responsibilities

As a Full-Stack Software Developer in the AMM (Asset and Maintenance Management) section, you will join a dynamic team with strong technical skills that sits at the intersection of modern software development, asset management, DevOps and machine learning.

In this fast-paced environment you will help in supplying a portfolio of modern web applications facilitating various asset and maintenance management tasks throughout CERN, serving over 4000 active users. These applications are built on top of a commercial system (HxGN EAM) that serves as an inventory for millions of individually traced equipment.

Through the utilisation of advanced technologies like React, JavaScript, HTML5 Stack, and Java, along with leveraging the internal cloud provider, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the platform's architecture. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to rotate in the SCRUM master role, which will allow you to collaborate with peer developers, conduct code reviews, engage in pair coding sessions and provide mentorship to more junior team members.

Overall, we're looking for someone who is willing to learn; be that new languages, frameworks, or libraries.

About us

At CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe. Using the world's largest and most complex scientific instruments, they study the basic constituents of matter - fundamental particles that are made to collide together at close to the speed of light. The process gives physicists clues about how particles interact, and provides insights into the fundamental laws of nature. Find out more on http://home.cern.

Diversity has been an integral part of CERN's mission since its foundation and is an established value of the Organization. Employing a diverse workforce is central to our success.
