Head of BD Europe 100% (m/f/d)

The Head of BD Europe is responsible for sourcing, qualifying, and negotiating multi-region strategic deals to term sheet level for all Arcera Genmed territories and overseeing regional and local deals to the contract level. The Head plays a pivotal role in identifying early- to mid-stage partnership, in-licensing, and acquisition opportunities aligned with the company’s growth ambitions, while acting as the key regional contact and maintaining a global perspective to identify scalable, cross-regional opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Search & Scouting:

1. 
   
   
   
   • Identify and evaluate partnership and licensing opportunities in innovative molecules, including assets in preclinical, clinical, or registration phases.
   
   
   • Build and maintain a strong network of biotech, academic, startup, and mid-size pharma contacts within assigned regions.
   
   
   • Stay current on therapeutic and market trends, with a focus on relevance to GenMed strategy to optimize the opportunity that sourced molecules can be effectively developed and commercialized globally
   
   
   
   


2. Regional & Global Interface:
   
   
   
   • Act as the primary BD contact for regional commercial, medical, and regulatory teams, ensuring local insights are integrated into global evaluations.
   
   
   • Surface region-specific needs and match them with external opportunities or partner pipelines.
   
   
   • Identify and advocate for cross-regional deals that can be leveraged across multiple geographies.
   
   
   
   


3. Deal Structuring & Negotiation:
   
   
   
   • Conduct valuation modeling, risk analysis, and strategic fit assessments for prospective deals.
   
   
   • Drive negotiations through to term sheet stage, collaborating with global BD, legal, and finance colleagues.
   
   
   
   


4. Collaboration & Governance:
   
   
   
   • Maintain regular reporting of opportunity pipeline, deal progress, and regional BD activity.
   
   
   • Participate in governance reviews and contribute to portfolio strategy discussions.

Qualifications & Experience: 

• Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, Life Sciences, Business, or related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred)

• 5–10 years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotech business development.


• Demonstrated success in sourcing and negotiating licensing or partnership deals.


• Strong understanding of development-stage molecule evaluation and partnering models.


• Deep familiarity with regional healthcare dynamics in emerging markets and/or global commercial potential.


• Fluency in written and spoken English
