Job Description - Head of Contracting

As a leading river cruise company, we deliver exceptional experiences to guests across Europe. Our commitment to quality and innovation extends beyond our ships to every guest interaction ashore. We're expanding our in-house Contracting team and are looking for a strategic, experienced leader to shape and manage this new function.

we are seeking a

Head of Contracting (m/f) 100 %

to lead and develop our newly created Contracting team. This position will play a pivotal role in shaping our shore excursion and hotel sourcing strategy across Europe. You’ll be responsible for ensuring we work with the best local suppliers, negotiate optimal rates and terms, and secure high-quality services that reflect our brand standards.

Responsibilities
•             Build, lead, and mentor a team of regional buyers.
•             Develop sourcing strategies for shore excursions, transportation, guides, and hotels across multiple destinations.
•             Drive the rebuying process annually, ensuring continuity and consistent service levels.
•             Negotiate commercial terms, contracts, and service level agreements with suppliers.
•             Work closely with Product and Operations teams to ensure alignment on guest experience standards.
•             Implement tracking tools and supplier evaluation systems.
•             Monitor supplier performance and resolve service issues as needed.
•             Create and maintain costing files

Experience and Qualifications
•             Minimum 5 years’ experience in contracting or procurement in tourism, hospitality, or cruise industry.
•             Proven experience managing teams and complex supplier portfolios.
•             Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
•             Fluent in English; additional European languages a plus.
•             Willingness to travel across Europe.
•             Passion for quality and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
