Job Description - Head of Marketing and Communications

MISSION

As the Head of Marketing and Communication, you will lead globally the strategic development and execution of comprehensive marketing, communications, and branding strategies. Your mission will be to elevate our standing in the Precious Metals Refining, Trading, and Minting sectors by enriching our corporate identity and product branding. You will ensure that our regional and global marketing efforts are consistent across all regions and tailored to meet each customer segment's needs. Your role will extend to fostering synergies with regional sales teams, ensuring that marketing strategies are seamlessly integrated and fine-tuned to the specific regional market dynamics. You will manage public and media relations and deploy expert crisis management tactics to safeguard MKS PAMP's integrity and reputation. This position is about shaping the future of our company as a cost-effective differentiator in the global precious metals market,  ensuring that our reputation for excellence is maintained over the long term.

MAIN ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Development & Execution
  • Develop, implement, and lead a global and comprehensive marketing, communication, and branding strategy aligned with the company’s vision.
  • Collaborate with the business to align marketing tactics and planning with strategic goals.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with regional sales teams to adapt marketing strategies to specific regional market dynamics
  • Ensure alignment of communication and branding strategies, emphasizing our commitment to superior customer experience.
  • Stay updated on the industry and relevant trends in the industry.
Brand Management
  • Manage, maintain, and elevate MKS PAMP's corporate identity and product branding to enhance its standing in the precious metals sectors.
  • Develop and execute targeted marketing campaigns and initiatives to increase brand recognition within MKS PAMP’s target markets. 
  • Ensure consistent brand messaging across all platforms and touchpoints, reinforcing the company’s reputation for excellence.
  • Collaborate with the HR department to develop strategic employer branding.
Communication
  • Manage all aspects of public relations, including media outreach, to enhance MKS PAMP's visibility and position as a leader in the industry.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets, influencers, and stakeholders and promote MKS PAMP thought leaders across national & international media.
  • Lead the preparation of press releases, statements and background information research, factsheets, and speeches.
  • Contribute to an effective internal communication strategy that ensures all employees are informed, engaged, and aligned with MKS PAMP’s mission, values, and strategic objectives.
  • Manage internal and external communication and social media platforms.
Crisis Management
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive crisis and governance framework.
  • Implement monitoring tools and processes to prevent crises. This includes media monitoring, sentiment analysis, and stakeholder feedback channels.
  • Activate the crisis communication plan promptly upon detection of a potential crisis. 
  • Provide internal and external stakeholders with clear, accurate, and timely information. 
  • Coordinate closely with other departments, especially compliance, legal, operations, and executive leadership, to ensure a common and effective response.
Team Management and Leadership
  • Lead and direct the Marketing department, including digital marketing, advertising, communications, and external agencies/freelancers. 
  • Lead the Marketing team and foster a culture of collaboration, ensuring sales and marketing teams across our businesses collaborate effectively.
  • Promote a culture of innovation, encouraging new ideas and approaches to achieve marketing excellence.
Performance measurement and reporting
  • Monitor key marketing metrics (such as CAC, NPS, and CLV) and reports using data to drive decisions and to ensure the most efficient use of resources
  • Manage the budget in line with the marketing and corporate strategies.
  • Ensure a high ROI on marketing investments through careful planning, execution, and continuous improvement.
  • Regularly measure and assess the company’s brand awareness levels through market research, social media analysis, and other relevant tools.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field. A master's degree is highly preferred.
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in marketing and communication leadership roles or a similar role;
    • Experience working in the commodities sector, preferably in the Metals and Mining industry;
    • Extensive experience in stakeholder management, public relations, and media outreach, with a strong network of media contacts.
    • Proven competence in crisis management and ability to maintain composure and make sound decisions under pressure.
    • Solid experience in working and collaborating with top management, NGOs, professional associations, and the media.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

    • Exceptional leadership and people management skills, capable of motivating and guiding a team towards achieving strategic objectives.
    • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret market data and metrics to drive marketing strategies and decisions.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
    • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with a knack for identifying opportunities for growth and innovation.
    • High level of creativity and innovation in developing marketing strategies and campaigns that engage and captivate target audiences.
    • Proficiency in marketing technology and tools, including digital marketing platforms, and analytics software.
    • Cultural sensitivity and the ability to adapt marketing strategies to different regions and markets
    • Resistance to stress and time pressure.
    • Ability to convince without authority.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Sense of responsibility and initiative and ability to work autonomously.
    • Highly adaptable and resilient, able to navigate the challenges and opportunities of a rapidly evolving market.
    • Ethical and transparent, with a strong commitment to integrity and corporate responsibility.
    • Collaborative mindset, able to work effectively across departments and with external partners to achieve common goals.
    • Proficiency in spoken and written English is required; Ability in spoken and written French and Italian would be highly regarded; knowledge of other languages an asset.
    • Swiss or EU national or holder of a valid Swiss working permit.
