Your responsibilities

The Geomatics team (Sites and Civil Engineering Department) is responsible for providing topographic services and managing CERN's Geographic Information System (GIS).The team surveys, collects and manages all geographical information relating to CERN's infrastructure and equipment.

As a land survey technician, you will be responsible for topographical surveys and for the setting of buildings and underground networks and services. You will also be responsible for drawing your plans and maps in the GIS. The work is split roughly equally between the field and the office, and you'll work closely with the surveyor in charge of topography.

Your profile

Skills and/or knowledge

  • First experience in land surveying and in the use of tacheometers (total stations), GPS and levels.
  • Practice in Autocad drawing.
  • Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (ArgisPro would be a plus).
  • Fluent in French, the ability to work in English would be an advantage.
  • Eligibility criteria:

  • You are a national of a .
  • By the application deadline, you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Topography, Land Surveying (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is a general secondary education diploma .
  • You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
  • Applicants with a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree are not eligible.

    Contract duration: 24 months, with a possible extension up to 36 months maximum.

  • A valid driving licence.
  • What we offer
