Job Description - Manager, International Medical Affairs

Deciphera, a member of ONO, is a biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering, developing and commercializing important new medicines to improve the lives of people with cancer. We are leveraging our proprietary switch-control kinase inhibitor platform and deep expertise in kinase biology to develop a broad portfolio of innovative medicines.

Enabled by our proprietary drug discovery platform, Deciphera has developed a diverse pipeline of wholly-owned drug candidates. QINLOCK® (ripretinib) is Deciphera’s switch control inhibitor developed for the treatment of fourth-line GIST. QINLOCK is approved in Australia, Canada, China, the European Union, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Taiwan, the United States, and the United Kingdom.  We wholly own QINLOCK and all of our drug candidates with the exception of a development and commercialization out-license agreement for QINLOCK in Greater China. In addition to QINLOCK, we have identified and advanced multiple product candidates from our platform into clinical studies, including vimseltinib and DCC-3116.

Job Description

What’s In It for You:

We are searching for a highly motivated, insightful, and resourceful individual to join the Medical Affairs International team. The Manager, International Medical Affairs is a visible and impactful role and will be instrumental in supporting the Medical Affairs activities for our commercial product (ripretinib) at European level in alignment with the Global Medical Affairs Scientific Director (dotted line report).

It is a unique opportunity to shape the landscape and the organization for Deciphera and grow alongside the company as it develops. The role reports directly to the Senior Manager, International Medical Affairs, with a dotted line to the Global Medical Affairs Scientific Director of ripretinib.

The Role:

Supporting the leadership of a supra-regional medical function. This role will include working closely with the Global Scientific Director, in alignment with the other functions involved in the brand planning and development of the product (commercial, mkt access, regulatory, compliance, etc) offering a key contribution to the pre-launch and launch phases in the different geographies;

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Support the development of the International Medical Affairs Plan for ripretinib in alignment with the Global Scientific Director and other functions
  • Provide tactical support and implementation of the medical affairs activities internationally
  • Act as scientific and medical review expert for ripretinib
  • Close collaboration and alignment with the International Marketing for Marketing and Commercial international projects
  • Clinical trials support in alignment with the Global Scientific Director and Clinical Operations Department
  • Provide support and direction for the International Publication Plan in alignment with the global publication strategy
  • Ensure legal excellence and compliance in all medical activities as per Deciphera’s SOPs and local regulations.
  • Promote Deciphera’s values.

 

Qualifications

  • MD or bio-science background
  • At least 5 years in Pharma industry, with experience in regional functions
  • Previous experience in Oncology or Rare Disease
  • Mobile, willing to travel (approx. 20% work in field)
  • Hands-on, ready to create a medical footprint of Deciphera in the assigned area and beyond
  • Strong communication skills, open style & pro-active
  • Languages: English; any other language is beneficial
