Job Description - Manufacturing Engineer

ANYbotics is a fast-growing tech company dedicated to shaping the future of mobile robotics across multiple industries. Join our highly talented and motivated team of more than 200 people and work on cutting-edge robot technology.

The Opportunity

Are you a self-driven engineer who thrives on the shop floor? We are looking for a pragmatic, structured, and hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to join our Production and Maintenance Team in the heart of Zurich.

In this role, you work in the value stream, taking responsibility for our daily manufacturing operations. You provide first-level support and diagnose technical issues to maintain throughput and testing uptime. Your scope includes the maintenance of our current robot generation and driving the NPI execution on the shop floor, specifically the build and troubleshooting of prototypes and zero-series units.

You act as the interface between Industrialisation, Quality, R&D, Supply Chain, and Logistics, while collaborating with our EMS partner to ensure stable series production. If you have an "on-hands" mentality and want to implement KPIs to resolve bottlenecks in a high-tech scale-up, this is your next challenge.

The Market & Our Technology

ANYbotics transforms the industrial sector by introducing robotics to a wide range of novel applications that so far were beyond reach (see our case studies in Chemicals, Oil & Gas, Railways, Wind Energy, Mining, Construction). Our customers are large asset operators and service providers of industrial plants pioneering robotics technology for inspection and maintenance. Our solution enables autonomous routine inspections and monitoring of large-scale industrial facilities for increased safety and productivity. We develop numerous customized hardware systems, including the entire robotic platform, actuators, sensors, inspection payloads, charging systems, and software to achieve world-class mobility, autonomy, and inspection capabilities, often based on AI. We have proven the technology and the business impact on our customers in long-term pilot projects. We are now scaling the commercialization of our solution(s) and deploying directly into operation at customer facilities worldwide.

Your Impact

  • Provide first-level technical support to ensure efficient production flow and minimize downtime

  • Document Non-Conformities (NCRs), perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions

  • Take ownership of the maintenance, calibration, and improvement of production tooling and test equipment

  • Monitor First Pass Yield (FPY) and throughput times consistently to proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks

  • Lead projects and initiatives to optimize output, efficiency, and on-time delivery

  • Drive the optimization of the end-to-end value stream for pilot series production and maintenance operations

  • Execute New Product Introduction (NPI) and the implementation of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) on the shop floor

  • Ensure test procedures and work instructions are technically accurate and up to date

Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma (HF/FH) in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics

  • 3 years+ experience in a high-tech manufacturing or robotics environment

  • Strong troubleshooting ability with a self-driven proactive and structured mindset

  • Experience with test instruments, oscilloscopes, DMMs, and power supplies

  • Proven hands-on skills in soldering, crimping, and cable assembly

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multicultural environment

  • Excellent technical communication and presentation skills

  • Fluency in German and English (Level B2 minimum)

Bonus Points

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies

  • Experience with test data analysis or yield monitoring tools

  • Familiarity with firmware update and validation workflows

  • Driving license CH-Cat. B

We offer you a very exciting and dynamic work environment, the opportunity to become part of a fast-growing company and an ambitious team that is on a mission to change the industrial inspection market, a chance to leverage your experience and bring in your own ideas, a fair market salary, an attractive employee stock ownership plan, and a job in the city of Zurich.
We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans.
