Besides marketing industrial sensors for laser power metering and for assessing insulation properties of buildings, we also offer a unique core body temperature measurement solution (CALERA®) for wearable devices. The technology empowers customers with a wide range of innovative applications such as improving sports performance, continuous and non-invasive patient monitoring, ovulation tracking, sleep analysis or early detection of diseases.

The company develops, manufactures, and markets all solutions at our headquarters in Zürich-Rümlang.

To get additional support for our production team, we are looking for a Manufacturing Maintenance Technician.

Location: Rümlang, CH.

Workload: 80-100%.

Starting date: immediately or upon agreement.

Tasks

The Manufacturing Technician supports reliable day-to-day production through hands-on manufacturing work, routine equipment maintenance, and practical troubleshooting. The role operates and monitors production equipment, performs maintenance activities according to defined schedules and internal standards, and assists operators when technical or operational issues occur.

  • Operate and maintain production equipment by setting up, monitoring, cleaning, inspecting, and performing routine preventive maintenance and basic adjustments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve routine equipment issues involving mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, software, or process-related faults within the scope of training and authorization.
  • Monitor equipment performance and safety by identifying abnormalities, wear, damage, deviations, and potential safety risks, and taking appropriate corrective action.
  • Support production operations by assisting manufacturing operators and performing hands-on production activities in accordance with production orders, SOPs, quality requirements, and safety standards.
  • Maintain technical documentation and records including machine logs, maintenance activities, inspections, troubleshooting actions, and equipment status updates.
  • Support equipment lifecycle activities including installation, testing, calibration, qualification, servicing, and ensuring the availability of tools, spare parts, and maintenance materials.
  • Escalate and communicate technical issues effectively by reporting recurring, complex, quality-related, or safety-critical problems and ensuring clear handover of completed work and follow-up actions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and workplace organization by supporting 5S activities, equipment readiness, reliability improvements, safety initiatives, and production efficiency enhancements.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Completed vocational training, apprenticeship, technical education, or comparable practical experience in manufacturing, mechanics, mechatronics, automation, electronics, industrial maintenance, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a production, technical workshop, laboratory, maintenance, or manufacturing environment is a plus.

Specific Skills & Competencies

  • Basic technical and mechanical understanding, with an interest in learning how machines and manufacturing processes work.
  • Ability to follow SOPs, work instructions, maintenance schedules, checklists, machine manuals, and safety requirements accurately.
  • Practical problem-solving ability and a structured approach to identifying and resolving routine technical issues.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy when performing production, maintenance, inspection, and documentation activities.
  • Reliable, hardworking, punctual, and consistent in completing assigned work.
  • Ability to recognize personal authorization limits and escalate issues before making unapproved technical or process changes.
  • Strong hands-on attitude and willingness to work directly with production machinery, tools, materials, and equipment.
  • Cooperative and service-oriented approach when supporting manufacturing operators and other colleagues.
  • Clear communication regarding machine status, maintenance activities, faults, and unresolved issues.
  • Basic computer skills and willingness to use digital production, maintenance, and documentation systems.
  • Languages: English at least B2; German or any other language is a plus.
