We are seeking for a highly experienced and qualified Mechanical Design Engineer – Stress.

Your responsibilities
Perform static and dynamic analyses as well as fatigue and damage tolerance analyses for cabin completion and modification projects Support the Team Leader Mechanical Design Engineering to develop working methods to ensure an efficient work flow Ensure correct consideration and application of Certification Basis, Rules and Regulations, Means of Compliance and Interpretations Ensure adequate communication and liaison internally, especially with the Engineering Team as well as with external Third Parties Your daily tasks
Static, dynamic and fatigue calculations of different installations (e.g. interior monuments, antennae installation, additional water tank, etc.) in airplanes with different methods (e.g. Finite-Element-Analysis and hand calculations). Review and approval of drawings and designs for stress aspects Work out of repairs and modifications in regard of stress Consulting with the mechanical design engineering to achieve light and cost saving structure solutions Development of technical as well as safety and certification relevant documentation such like reports, analysis, assessments Establishment of FEM models and Structural Substantiation Reports Development and procurement of material testing Development of engineering standards The experience you have & skills you bring
Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, aeronautical engineering or relevant field Profound knowledge of fundamental physics, technical mechanics, thermodynamics, aerospace technology and materials Minimum 5 years structural substantiation experience Proactive behaviour with excellent written and verbal communication skills in English – additionally French and/or German is advantageous Experienced FEM user (Femap). Experience with CAD software (AutoCad, CATIA, Solidworks). Proficient in MS Office. VBA programming skills are advantageous. Ability to work independently Accurate and strong attention to detail and safety Ideally aerospace engineering background, alternatively automotive / transportation experience What we offer you
