Physical Shipbroker (Geneva)

Reporting

•     Report to the Desk Head and escalate risk events
immediately to the Desk Head in person or via email within 24 hours.

Key responsibilities:

·        Promote FIS as a company, providing market
intelligence and analysis to clients

·        Maintain and enhance existing client
relationships, making regular contact and tracking daily trading activities;

·        Generate revenue and develop and enhance client
base;

·        Understand the team’s business strategy and
identify new business opportunities relating to shipping trends;

·        Responsible for daily price discovery,
dissemination and matching;

·        Identify and introduce new clients to the market
and maintain professional relationships;

·        Perform any other reasonable duties the company
may require

Risk related
responsibilities

•     Support a risk and compliance aware culture and
comply with FIS company policies

•     Ensure full awareness of and adhere to internal
policies that relate to the role or any relevant other activities

Training

•     Seek regular feedback from Desk Head to ensure
role requirements are met

•     Complete any mandatory training required by the company
and required deadlines

•     Maintain own Continued Professional Development
(CPD)

Requirements

•     Possess sound knowledge of Shipping, Freight
and Commodity markets, as well as wider markets and current affairs;

•     Strong client focus; personable and engaging
building relationships and networks wherever possible

•     Communicate effectively with clients and
colleagues

•     Tenacious and thrives in a pressurised
environment

•     Team orientated; works well with others and
diverse groups / personalities

•     Excellent attention to detail; strong analytical
and numeracy skills

•     Exhibit professional and ethical conduct at all
times, establishing and developing all business relationships (internal and
external stakeholders) based on respect, integrity & dignity
