Risk Officer

We offer an exciting position within the Compliance & Risk Management Team of Energy Infrastructure Partners (EIP), an investment boutique specialized in private equity investments in the energy infrastructure sector, from wind farms to electricity grids. Currently managing over CHF 7bn of capital on behalf of institutional investment vehicles, EIP is growing rapidly and looking for new talents to support with expanding its focus to global investment activities. 

Key Responsibilities

• Analysis & evaluation of quantitative risk models in collaboration with the Investment Controlling Team 
• Acting as an interface between the Compliance & Risk Management Team and the Investment Controlling Team
• Review and analyze energy infrastructure transactions from a risk management perspective as well as identify, articulate and resolve risk and control issues
• Perform risk assessments and analysis on new business initiatives in line with the EIPs existing risk and compliance frameworks, including tailoring and implementing of respective monitoring and control requirements
• Support the setup, operation and maintenance of an effective and efficient business risk management framework
• Perform controls as well as review the quality of such controls and help to enhance the EIPs risk management and control framework
• Preparation and execution of EIP’s annual risk & control self-assessment
• Collaborate with the different business units, advising, managing and mitigating various risk elements related to the topics covered and contribute to designing and formalizing relevant front controls
• Co-operate with the different stakeholders of affiliates abroad within a matrix set-up
• Follow a forward-looking approach screening the Swiss and European market for regulatory developments that might affect EIP

• Degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics or equivalent education, specific education in Risk Management is a plus
• Approx. 5 years’ experience in the field of risk management at a regulated asset manager
• Experience with the energy sector and/or alternative investment structures and the respective regulations is considered as a plus
• Passion for numbers and quantitative analysis & models as well as thriving on working with complex data. 
• Keen interest in applying these skills to real-world challenges
• Experience with investment foundations and knowledge of the respective regulatory requirements is considered a plus as is knowledge of the financial markets' regulation in the European Union 
• Very good communication and interpersonal capabilities: being able to articulate and defend your perspective in a professional way
• Problem- solving and hands-on approach, eagerness to constantly learn and face new challenges
• Open-minded with the ability to grasp new concepts rapidly
• High degree of flexibility and passion
• Teamplayer with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast- paced, dynamic environment
• Languages: Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken
